Field Recordings SINN Red

Sinn red blend is a Zinfandel based kitchen sink blend, that is rich and smooth and utterly delicous! This is the last vintage of the “Sinn” label, it is now called Fiction red blend as Andrew has tried to streamline his many labels. The wine is dark but has softened a bit due to age. Rich flavors of dark and red fruit are mixed with hints of spicy earth and tobacco. Drinks unbelievably smooth with a nice long finish. Easy going and gets along with everyone! a great sipping wine – this is in it’s prime, so enjoy it now!

Quilt Red Blend

We are very excited to have a brand new red wine from Quilt, a fantastic red blend that winemaker Joe Wagner calls “The Fabric Of The Land”. It is a luscious blend of Petite Sirah, Merlot, Zinfandel and Petit Verdot from all across Napa Valley. Each vineyard plot is picked separately for optimum ripeness, and each lot is vinified individually before being blended together. Joe uses cold maceration and extended fermentation techniques to extract as much color and flavor that he can in the wine – and it really shows! This wine pours a deep, dark purple and almost instantly the aromas of blackberry and blueberry rise from the glass. The smell is reminiscent of so many Napa wines that we have enjoyed over the years! The rich, dark fruit is complimented by hints of mocha, cherry cola, spice and vanilla. This wine is big and lush, rich and full bodied, harmoniously balanced and well made. Another hit from Joe! This wine is great right out of the bottle, better after a half an hour, and will easily cellar for 5+ years – but is certainly not needed when it is this great now!

Errazuriz The Blend Collection

The Red Blend Collection is truly a winemakers blend. The components change each vintage in order to showcase the best of the best in the vineyards, and rumor is much of what goes into this wine is declassified fruit from their absolute top and most premium vineyards. Because the Aconcagua Valley is a Mediterranean climate – the varieties showcased are the best of the Mediterranean! 2014 was a hot, beautiful vintage, so they literally had the pick of the best in this years blend!

The final blend ended up being 48% Grenache, 21% Syrah, 19% Mourvedre and 12% Carignan and were all handpicked and double sorted before fermentation to ensure only the best of the best are selected. Only natural yeasts were used in fermentation and were aged in French Oak, a combination of new and used, and rested for 20 months before bottling. The wine is a gorgeous effort that has loads of dried red fruit flavors up front, held together by a rich palate and a backbone of fine grained tannins. It is juicy and well integrated with a really wonderful long finish. The wine is harmonious and balanced – drinking well now and should last 5-10 years in your cellar!

Hess Select Treo

This is a big, rich style of wine, that is silky smooth with soft tannins. This wine is meant to be enjoyed now, and to bring family and friends together, over a glass (or bottle) of wine. Petite Sirah is the backbone of the wine, giving it it’s structure and the dark berry fruit of blackberries and blueberries. This vintage has some amazing Syrah blended in, which provide lushness and fruit on the palate, as well as enhancing the structure and softening the Petite Sirah. There is a good portion of Zinfandel in this vintage, which add to the aromatics of the wine, and adds a great spicy / earthy note to the wine. This wine is big fruited up front, with a great mouth feel, lots of spice and earth undertones, with a super silky finish. This wine is great on it’s own, but also pairs with a wide variety of food, such as anything on the barbecue, pizza night, or a deli board of meat and cheese.
