The Mollydooker Two Left Feet combines the best elements of Shiraz, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon in a seamless blend. The Merlot has perfumed fruit while the Shiraz brings richness as well as depth and the Cabernet provides firm tannins and dark blackberry flavors. The combination creates great complexity but also great length, mocha and spice are the lasting flavors but each new taste shows more attractive fruit and delicious flavors.
100 percent Syrah, loaded with exuberent aromas of raspberries, blackberries, cherry cola and a hint of chocolate. The palate is expressive and complex, full bodied and velvety smooth. There is a smokiness and a minerality to go along with all the fruit, beautifully balanced and layered. The tannins are perfectly balanced and the finish is long and smooth.
These grapes were also picked late in the season, resulting in a big ripe wine with 14% alcohol. It has black cherry and vanilla aromas with black pepper. On the palate, it shows the variety’s classic gamey, leathery flavours that recall the meat counter of a deli. The texture is rich and generous. The touch of pepper on the finish wraps up a delicious wine.
While there are no half measures with the weight or shape of this wine, it has a touch of elegance running alongside its blackberry, blood plum and dark chocolate fruit; the tannins wait until the last moment to join forces with the oak to speak clearly of the long future ahead. Great value.
