Powell & Son Barossa Shiraz

The Barossa Valley Shiraz is sourced from mature Barossa Valley vineyards, with the majority located along the region’s North-Western ridge in Marananga and Seppeltsfield as well as Lyndoch Valley in the Southern Barossa. Fruit parcels are vinified separately in concrete vats, before being basket pressed and assembled into large format 4,500 litre French oak foudres for 15 months maturation. The wine is neither fined nor filtered prior to bottling.

The Barossa Valley Shiraz is generous in its dark plum and blackberry fruits. Notes of tar and graphite follow with hints of dried herbs and tobacco.

The palate is rounded and supple with dark fruits and a supple tannin backbone which brings with it coffee ground and cedar flavours. The wine finishes with generous dark fruits and white pepper spice.

Dodgy Bros Archetype Shiraz

From a single vineyard on Bayliss Road in the Sellicks Foothills sub region of McLaren Vale. Matured in 75% new French oak, only four barrels produced. Crushed and destemmed and no adjustments. 11-day ferment, then basket pressed to tank to settle off solids, three days later racked to barriques. Our Archetype Shiraz is our attempt at bridging the gap between classic and modern McLaren Vale styles: concentrated and powerful yet restrained. Intense but still elegant.

100 Bats “The Dark of Night”

In the darkest of night, miles from any soul, the bats awaken. Swooping over the marshy wetlands, past the old ruins and toward the sweet smell of Shiraz. Flying slowly using echolocation navigation for hunting prey, they glean insects from the vineyard and reeds to feast for the night. A Shiraz from a darker place that delivers flavour, depth and concentration with immediate impact. Vine-dried grapes grown on the estate are the bones to this concentrated style intensified with extra oak and flavours. It speaks of the nightly rituals, of the sustainable vineyards and of the intensity of the Shiraz it delivers in the glass.

Flavabom Shiraz

Flavabom Shiraz (think Flavor Bomb!) lives up to it’s name. It pours a deep dark purple into the glass and instantly aromas of cassis and dark purple fruit fill the air. As soon as you take a sip, you will be enthralled by the concentrated fruit flavors that almost explode in your mouth. Blackberries, cassis mixed with hints of vanilla and warm spices tantalize your taste buds and leave you wanting more! This is a big bold Shiraz, with silky smooth tannins and a long smooth finish… A terrific wine for the price! This wine tastes great right out of the bottle, gets better with 15-30 minutes of air and can easily last in your cellar for 5 years or more. It tastes delicious on it’s own, and would be a terrific compliment to char grilled steak, smoky bbq ribs or roast duck.
