We are very excited to have a brand new red wine from Quilt, a fantastic red blend that winemaker Joe Wagner calls “The Fabric Of The Land”. It is a luscious blend of Petite Sirah, Merlot, Zinfandel and Petit Verdot from all across Napa Valley. Each vineyard plot is picked separately for optimum ripeness, and each lot is vinified individually before being blended together. Joe uses cold maceration and extended fermentation techniques to extract as much color and flavor that he can in the wine – and it really shows! This wine pours a deep, dark purple and almost instantly the aromas of blackberry and blueberry rise from the glass. The smell is reminiscent of so many Napa wines that we have enjoyed over the years! The rich, dark fruit is complimented by hints of mocha, cherry cola, spice and vanilla. This wine is big and lush, rich and full bodied, harmoniously balanced and well made. Another hit from Joe! This wine is great right out of the bottle, better after a half an hour, and will easily cellar for 5+ years – but is certainly not needed when it is this great now!
Dense but plush tannins frame rich, ripe black cherry, plum compote and gingerbread flavors, with bittersweet chocolate and dried sage notes and a whiff of spearmint. The focus carries through on the long, lingering finish. Drink now through 2030.
The Louis Martini Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley spends 18 months in a combination of 30% new and 70% used French and American barrels. It is another big boy at 15.4% natural alcohol. One of the strongest efforts yet from the Martinis, this cuvée still sells at a modest $38.00 – a fair price for something this compelling. The wine has an opaque purple color, a beautiful nose of blueberries, blackcurrants, licorice, camphor and graphite. The wine is full-bodied and multilayered on the palate with sensational richness and length.

Gravity Red Blend is named for a remote, hard-to-reach block on one of the lowest slopes of the Monte Rosso Vineyard.
This dark, dense wine is a blend of six varietals led by Petite Sirah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel that vividly expresses the power and depth of a great mountain vineyard. It is filled with intense fruit flavors that range from boysenberry and blueberry jam to blackberry and fig, woven through with lovely accents of black truffle and dusty cocoa that create a full-bodied, luscious mouthfeel.
