2015 Australian Winery Of The Year!
Deep garnet-purple colored, The Beast Shiraz is just a little closed at this youthful stage, but with coaxing reveals an abundance of warm blackberry and black cherry notes complemented by licorice, marmite toast, dark chocolate and menthol nuances. The densely packed, full-bodied palate does not disappoint with tons of spice and savory layers on offer, supported by finely grained tannins and harmonious acidity, finishing with great length.
Luscious cherry, blackberry and plum jam fruit flavours marry together, forming this powerful yet elegant Shiraz. Made from a selection of McLaren Vale’s premier grapes, its deep colour and fragrant nose leads to quite a voluptuous palate of fruit intertwined with rich mocha, coffee and chocolate, with traces of licorice and toffee. Carnival of Love offers exceptional complexity while remaining balanced and delightful to drink.
Juicy, soft and plush flavors of root beer–scented cherry and raspberry are spicy and a touch candied, but very generous, showing off caramel and sandalwood accents. Smooth and supple through the long finish, this is impressive for the complexity and focus. Drink now through 2029.
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2014 Amon-Ra Shiraz has a youthfully mute nose, offering glimpses at the blackberry, blackcurrant and licorice core, plus suggestions of dark chocolate, cigar boxes, fertile earth and baking spices. The full-bodied palate delivers concentrated, muscular blackberry and earth flavors with plenty of freshness and a beautiful backbone of finely grained tannins, finishing with commendable persistence and layers. This is a great contender for wine of the vintage!
